We encourage all of our cadets to join one or more of our co-curricular JROTC teams, such as the Drill team, Marksmanship team, JLAB or Raiders with many goals in mind. First and foremost, we emphasize academic excellence. Likewise, we also focus on good attendance, exceptional behavior in and outside of our JROTC classroom, the practice of a healthy lifestyle, and a personal commitment to our teams. We have well-structured team rules and policies that are explained in great detail to each and every one of our team members at the beginning of every season.
In addition to our internal rules and policies regarding participation on any of our co-curricular teams, the Air Force Junior ROTC regulations establish guidance that states cadets participating in co-curricular activities must maintain a minimum of an unweighted 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
We absolutely want our cadets to learn from their experiences participating on our JROTC teams. We also want to grow as young adults and to acquire lifelong memories while participating on any of our teams. However, failure to follow team rules and/or policies or other violations of the personal expectations outlined in the opening paragraph may result in the removal from their given JROTC team.
